DC x DP Idea Thing #4
Dual-sided Rebirth AU (Official name pending)
Brain had this idea for over a week (or 2...) now, rent-free, but what if Jazz, Dan, Danny, and Ellie all reincarnated as Harvey Dent's kids? Jazz and Dan are the old set of twins while Danny and Ellie are the younger set. Will all of them remember their past lives? I say majority of it.
This is before Harvey got scarred and became Two-Face and maybe the mother is someone before Gilda Dent? Idk, all I know is that all of them present as Metas despite neither Harvey or their mother had the meta trait (this is a case that Black Canary II falls under from what my research says), Danny and Ellie's powers showing from birth while Dan's and later Jazz's activated after.
Danny and Ellie were thought to be dead when they were born but they proved otherwise. Danny froze a nurse's hand while Ellie went into goop mode a few times. Later Dan and Jazz both set something on fire but for two completely different reasons, severity, and time. At least to say, Harvey here has a handful, especially if he was acting as a single parent here.
Harvey's gonna have a bit of a hard time first as a parent, regardless if this is pre-Two-Face era or not. Man here is (secretly) terrified at the thought of becoming like his father to his kids.
It takes a while but he gets used to the life of fatherhood despite also being busy as hell. The kids help out by behaving (as much as they can anyways), though, Jazz's powers do come in handy.
(She's like SCP-999 essentially here when she notices people are stressed in her proximity, for lack of better words. No one noticed she had powers till it manifested into harmless flames that had calming effects to it when nearby. With her powers + support from her and the rest of her siblings, they managed to delay Two-Face's debut for a while later on. But uh, yeah, her powers are gonna be very helpful for Harvey when Dan, Danny, and Ellie all gain more powers cause OOOOO BOY, blood pressure, am I right?)
Harvey becomes more motivated to get into Law after all his kid's powers were shown so they can be seen/treated as equals and not have Metas outright banned from Gotham especially, even though he keeps his kid's status as "metas" away from public knowledge. It later becomes an open secret though.
As stated earlier, the Two-Face debut is gonna be delayed. Jazz, Dan, Danny, and Ellie are gonna be very protective of their dad (and pa when they officially meet Harv) after the attack. Mother henning children. I feel like Dan's gonna empathize with both of them a lot in a way and have late-night talks with dad and pa about the darker thoughts they all have.
As much as they all tried, though, Two-Face is gonna make an appearance cause this is Gotham.
When Two-Face era begins, Harvey and Harv likely avoid the kids (even if Danny and Ellie are still teens while Jazz and Dan are in Uni) as their way of protecting them from overall villain stuff the two do despite all of them trying to reach out to him and supporting them, hoping they'll get better.
I'm ngl, I feel like Dan and Danny are gonna join the criminal business with their dad and pa (much to their protests) cause someone has to look out for them. Ellie joins in on occasions for chaos and shenanigans (cause yes) and Jazz is glaring at Arkham with so much contempt cause YOU AREN'T HELPING HER DAD AND PA PROPERLY! (As well as the other inmates but STILL- YOU CALL THAT PROPER MEDICAL PRACTICE- Jazz ends up burning at least something whenever anything about Arkham is brought up. Everyone in the family is scared cause her flames normally don't even singe a thing)
Jazz is creating her own practitioner-place therapy thing cause TO HELL WITH ARKHAM!
I... Honestly don't know what I'm writing here anymore. More exhausted then usual. Might add/edit later. Idk. Just- Reincarnation for Fenton Kids, Harvey being Gotham's original Famous Dad before Bruce (which speaking of- he's Uncle Bruce and Dan and Danny don't trust him which confuses Harvey and Harv), and just, angst, fluff, chaos, and shenanigans.
#dc x dp#dp x dc#dpxdc#Idk what is the timeline for this au anymore#Dad Harvey Dent#he's trying his best#Jazz Dan Danny and Ellie are a handful but they try as well#Dent Family beating the other crime families butts#Bruce is getting more grey hairs quicker because of the Dent kids alone#He questions why Dan and Danny hate him especially#Jazz and Ellie don't seem to hate him#Ellie likes to target him with pranks though so...#Seriously WHAT EVEN IS TIMELINE ANYMORE#I had help from Batpham discord with figuring out Jazz's powers#reincarnated au#i have no regrets#i am so tired right now#Idk what else to tag#Jazz really hates Arkham here#Dan and Danny are their dad and pa's left and right hand man#Even though neither wanted them to be mixed up with the mess they created#OH JEEZ IMAGINE THE ROGUES GALLERY MEETINGS#Ellie's gonna be recording those cause it always ends with both Dan and Danny trying to murder Joker#The Dent kids being Metas is an open secret in Gotham#Gonna go nap now

cobblebats fanfic pt. 5 (also i just figured out the âkeep readingâ thing. sry im a dumbass)
From Bruceâs POV
I carefully ascended the stairs, finding Harvey at the top of the building. He was fiddling with his coin again and muttering a series of paranoid ramblings to himself, seemingly unaware of my presence.
I didnât know what it was, but something about Harvey appeared to be more agitated than normal. I could practically hear his heart thumping from where I stood, and his eyes were restlessly darting over the city landscape laid out in front of him. I mean, it wasnât exactly uncommon for Harvey to be on edge, but tonight felt different. Tense. I didnât like it. I just hoped Ozâs plan worked.
âI donât know if that was the right thing to do,â Harvey whispered to himself in his original voice, âwhy did I do that?â
Suddenly, he switched to a sadistic growl.
âDonât screw this up, Harvey.â
I watched from a distance, second-guessing myself and unsure of whether or not this was a good idea. The last thing I wanted to do was antagonize the man further, but these days, it felt like no matter what I did, Harvey always only ended up hating me more. A part of me sincerely believed that if I played my cards right tonight, I would be able to talk to the friendly, warm, âput-a-Dent-in-crimeâ Harvey again, but the rest of me knew better.
I took a deep breath and slid my hands into my pockets. Here goes nothing.
âHarvey,â I immediately grabbed his attention. âWe need to talk.â
The mayor glared at me, still playing with his coin. âIf youâve come to save your home, youâre wasting your time. My mind is made up.â
God, I could barely hear the old Harvey anymore. It was like his personalities were merging with each other. It used to be so easy to differentiate my friend from Two-Face, but now, they were almost the same person.
âI have always supported you,â I said. âYou were my friend.â
His glare only intensified.
âLook,â I continued, âI know youâre still pissed off at me about Selina, but I swear to you...nothing. happened. You have to stop this. Now.â
Harvey grit his teeth. âGotham deserves a mayor that can focus on cleaning up this city. Thatâs why Iâm taking your money, your home...everything. Itâs time that you started paying your debt to Gotham.â
âItâs not my debt to pay. What my parents did is not my fault.â
âNobody cares.â He bit his tongue right after saying that, almost as if he regretted it. âIâm sorry, Bruce,â his voice softened, âbut I canât back down now. Iâve got a lot of pressure on me, Iâve got enemies everywhere. The Children of Arkham are plotting something against the GCPD, and The Penguinâs having the time of his life terrorizing a bank.â
Well, at least he did his part. Now letâs hope he keeps his word.
Harvey took out a walkie-talkie. âAnd strong leaders crush their enemies--without hesitation.â
I eyed him suspiciously. Where was he going with this?
âYouâre better than this, Harvey.â I tried to distract him. âAnd Iâm not giving up on you--not yet. You can still change things for the better.â
He gave me an unsettling grin. âYouâre right. And it starts with taking down the Children of Arkham.â
âWhat do you mean?â I had a seriously bad feeling about this.
A static-like voice came from the walkie-talkie. âReady to go.â
Harvey looked me dead in the eye, unblinking. âDo it.â
I waited for a second, wondering what he was going to do when, suddenly, from behind me, a deafening boom erupted throughout Gotham.
I steadily turned around in horror. I couldnât believe what I was witnessing.Â
I could hear people shrieking from within a flaming building in the distance as the structure slowly began to collapse, the fire dancing wildly around it and breaking the nightâs darkness with a bright, orange glow.
âWhat the hell did you do!?â I exclaimed.
He ignored me and spoke into the walkie-talkie. âAre Lady Arkhamâs drugs destroyed?â
âAw, man!â They responded in panic. âThat blast was much bigger than you said! We mustâve taken out a whole city block with it! We lost a bunch of our own guys...and the apartment next door--Jesus Christ!â
âWe stopped the Children of Arkham. Thatâs all that matters.â Harvey brought his attention to me. âThatâs what a leader does.â
I said nothing. I didnât know what to say. Harvey had officially lost his mind.
âI couldnât just destroy the drugs--I had to make a statement! I needed the Children of Arkham and any other potential enemies waiting in the shadows to know what Iâm capable of. That I will protect my city. That I am the Guardian of Gotham.â
Harvey looked at the sky. âI can see the headlines already. âHero Mayor Saves Citizens from Children of Arkham Terror Plot!â Meanwhile, somewhere in the back, theyâll stick the article about âBruce Wayneâs Tragic Suicide.â
I was taken aback. âWhat the hell are you talking about?â
âAll the shame you suffered was just too much for you to bear. Your familyâs history. Getting forced out of your own company. Losing all your money...â
A group of Harveyâs guards appeared, all of them armed and ready to take me away.Â
âNo one will question finding you dead in Crime Alley, so soon after you got out of Arkham.â
I couldnât believe this. Harvey was actually going to murder me. I clenched my fist in anger. I wanted nothing more than to beat some sense into him, but I knew how that would end up. Just before his guards could grab me however, I heard a familiar voice.
âGentlemen!âÂ
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man dressed in a suit, his face covered by a bird-shaped gas mask and his arms wide open. Oz?Â
âPenguin!?â Harvey snarled. âWhat are you doing here?â
Even though I couldnât see Ozâs face, I knew he was smiling. âWell, you see, Dent, I couldnât help but notice that you were trying to murder Mr. Pretty Rich Boy here...and, as much as I approve of his well-deserved death, Iâm afraid itâs gonna have to be by my hand. So, if youâd just...kindly step aside...â
All of the guards aimed their weapons at him. âAh. Itâs gonna be like that, eh?â
âGive it up, Penguin!â There was fear in Harveyâs voice. âItâs all of us against you!â
Oz sighed a little too dramatically. âOh, I know. And I almost feel sorry for you, mate...life can be so unfair, canât it?â He shrugged. âOh well. Sounds like a âyouâ problem to me.â
Within the blink of an eye, Oz had shot down all three guards, a bullet in each of their heads and their blood painting the roof. Meanwhile, Harvey watched in terror, glancing frantically back and forth between the corpses and Oz as he approached me.
âIâd get outta here if I were you, Dent,â Oz warned, âunless you wanna share a grave with Billionaire Boy here.â
He knows I have a name, right?
âOr who knows?â Oz continued. âMaybe you're tougher than you look. Maybe you could break me in half like a toothpick, no problem. Are you tough, Dent? I mean, everyone saw the way you cowered at that debate--the way Batman had to rescue you like a damsel in distress...the way you screamed like a little girl. âGuardian of Gotham,â my arse.â
Harvey was trembling, but I couldnât tell whether it was out of fear or rage.
Oz let out a laugh. âWhatâs the matter? Cat got your tongue?â He winked. âYouâd like that, wouldnât you?â
That struck a major nerve in the mayor, and before I knew it, Harvey was charging at Oz with his fist in the air like a madman, out of control and yelling. Though, it didnât take much effort for Oz to step out of the way and slam the butt of his gun into the back of Harveyâs neck, knocking him out instantly.
Once the mayor was down, Oz removed his mask and held it in the curve of his arm, inhaling the fresh air around him and putting his gun away. I had to admit, I was relieved, but at the same time, I didnât like that Oz just murdered three guards. But that was a discussion for later. Right now, I just wanted to get back home.
âWelp, heâs outta the way,â Oz smirked at me. âGuess I gotta shoot you now.â
I chuckled. âHonestly, I wouldnât mind at this point.â
He chuckled back. âYou know, this is the second time Iâve had to save your arse from getting jumped.â
âYeah, thanks for the help, by the way. I promise, Iâll repay you somehow.â
âI wouldnât mind taking your company.â
â...â
Oz laughed. âHa! Iâm just playinâ with you, mate. Nah, you can keep your company. And besides, even if I did try to steal it again, I honestly think Regina would try to kill me. Sheâs still livid about how I tricked your entire board.â
âShe can be a bit...overprotective of me.â
âWell, someone has to be. I mean, how many times this month have you almost gotten murdered?â
âFair point.â
He put his mask back on. âAnyways, Iâll meet you back at the manor. Try not to get killed on the way.â
And with that, Oz disappeared from sight yet again, leaving me alone atop the roof with an unconscious Harvey, his guards, and my thoughts. I couldnât help but take one last look at the burning building behind me, the thick smoke plaguing the sky and my heart sinking at the sight. The screaming I heard earlier...I was never going to get that out of my head. And all those innocent lives...just...gone.Â
Out of all those things however, what really caught my attention was Harveyâs large, limp hand...
...which had been pressing down on the walkie-talkieâs button the whole time.

Loggerheads
Paring: Matt Murdock & Reader
Tags: female reader, sister reader, reader is a police officer, fights, daddy issues, mommy issues, ALL THE ISSUES, minor injuries, BAMF Claire Temple, Reader-Centric.
Summary: Matt and Reader might be brother-sister, but they sure don't see eye-to-eye a lot, especially on the issue of Matt donning 'kidsâ pyjamas kicking butt and being kicked in the butt'.
Word Count: 1,426
Posting Date: Â 2017-05-14
Current Date: 2017-06-15
In the evenings, youâd try to get as much done as possible. Case files, house chores, working the job off hours. Being a police officer in Hellâs Kitchen was hard, but being a Murdock? Double. Mostly because it was your name, your blood that boiled under your skin; you couldnât just wake up one day and decide to not be ______ Murdock. Especially when you had your little brother Matt to take care of. As for being a police officer? It was Hellâs Kitchen! It was like crime was asking to be caught on camera phone. So, you took long nights, worked all the overtime your body could handle, and tried to keep an eye out for your Matt.
He hated being mothered. Even before the accident, when youâd take care of him, coming home from being punched up at school, and Dad after one of his days in the ring, they didnât like feeling as powerless as to need help. Weird concept, seeing how the Murdock boys had the Devil in them â and the Devil sure liked to stir up some hell.
It was a Thursday evening â no, it was the early hours of Friday â when you were supposed to be sleeping beside an ill-gotten date (youâd locked him up earlier the evening for fraudulence and money-laundering) when you figured out that your brother was the anti-police vigilante running around in kidsâ pyjamas kicking butt and being kicked in the butt.
That was when you broke.
âMatthew Michael Murdock, you open your door!â You yell, beating on the door as if your fists could fell it. With your fury, you could probably do it.
There was a shuffle, and the door your fists had made dents into opened, revealing the face of your little brother. He was only a year younger than you, and all through school until the accident heâd insisted on being as independent as he could be, trying to mimic Dad. But now, by the look of his face, heâd turned into the both of your father â his face was bruised, stitches and puckering colour littering his skin, a black eye and fat lip forming.
âI fell over,â he lies.
You know itâs a lie, because thatâs your job. Youâre a police officer, and basically, the lie detector of the squad downtown. You knew when the perp was talking out of their ass, or honestly, or off-track to the subject. You give him a big smile â even if Matt canât see, you know he can sense your teeth being bared in sarcastic joy.
âBullshit.â You push past him, making way into his apartment. âI know where you go at night.â The door closes, and he feels his way into the living area. Your eyes scan over the dimly lit room â nothing is out of place, not even the trash compactor, or the shelf of glasses, or his braille bookshelf. âDaredevil?â
You watch as he hesitates. âWho?â
You laugh. âIâm not an idiot. Iâm the one who figured out first that you can see a bit, remember? Matt, you canât just run around the city and whack-a-mole the bad guys! Youâre â youâre a lawyer! Youâve got prospects, Iâm a cop, I can take care of these people!â you cry out.
Matt moves, and settles upon his couch slowly. From the way he moves, you wonder if heâs hurt his ribs, or maybe his collar bone.
âHow long have you known?â He whispers.
You shake your head, and move toward his kitchen. If there was anything you knew about your family, it was that Murdockâs always had whiskey on hand, and one spare for cleaning up wounds. Sure enough, thereâs a bottle in the cupboard, and taking two glasses, you sit opposite your brother on his coffee table.
âThree days,â you sigh. âEver since you-you helped Ms. Page, and Daredevil helped the same woman.â You pour the drink, and press it into his hands, making sure that his fingers are around the cup before letting go. âIâm only a little mad, Matt.â
He stiffens; even if heâs a piĂąata of broken bones, heâs ready to fight. âYou have no right to be mad.â His tone is almost a warning. âYouâre not my mother, ________.â
You nod. âYeah. I have a right! You signed away all rights for me to be not mad when you started dressing up, and ending up in dumpsters! This is the same thing as prep school all over again, except these guys have guns, and knives, Matt! And,â you take a deep breath, and taking this time to drink your glass like a shot, continue, âJust because Iâm not your mother doesnât mean I donât care.â
He softens. â________-,â
You shake your head. âShut up. I paid for you to go to freaking law school, Matt. I made you make something of yourself. I pulled strings for you to get this place, often enough, to make rent for the office you have with Nelson downtown.â Your voice is dangerously low; all your cards are on the table, for him to know. âIâm sure not sorry for caring for you, Matthew, but when Dad died, he left me to take care of you.â
Matt makes a noise. It sounds something halfway between a moan, and an exclamation, and looking up from your hands, you see him holding his ribs. Called it, you think.
âDonât tell me youâve turned into a nut-job who doesnât want to go to hospital.â You sigh.
âI â my phone,â he whimpers. âClaire. Call Claire.â
Reaching into his pocket, you fish out his phone, and scrolling through, find a woman named Claire in his contacts. âIâm guessing you want me to call her? Please, Matt, tell me sheâs not for a booty call. You need medical help.â Chuckling, âBoth for the body and inside your head.â
He cracks a smile. âSheâs â a nurse.â
By the time youâve called her, and Mattâs talked her into coming to patch him up (âOn my night off! I expect a big present this Christmas, buddy!â she protests), youâve made sure Matt is positioned as so he can breathe as much as his body can handle, and that you have another drink in your system. Thank Tony Stark for his insistence for new subway tunnels around the city.
âSorry I was mad coming over,â you down your next drink, glancing to your younger brother. Youâre not sure if heâs being less irritating with every drink, or youâre becoming more drunk. Either way, the Murdock siblings are not at loggerheads as usual. âI know Iâm not Mom.â
Matt makes a noise. It isnât bad like the one before; itâs more like a hum of acknowledgement.
âSorry I brought her up. I know youâre just doing what you think â,â he takes a big gasp of air, âis right.â
You make a noise too. âJust promise youâll call for me when it gets too much. Weâre good people, Matt, really. Even if we are the ones with guns on our belt.â You feel yourself teetering back, and grab onto the lip of the coffee table before you fall off. âYou gonna let me crash here tonight?â You ask him, and hearing a knock, you rise to answer the door, albeit shaky on your legs. âThat must be Claire. Sheâs more of a hero than you, coming to patch you up at odd hours,â you muse, crossing to the door.
As you open the door, you are met with Claire. You take in her dark hair, and glowing skin, and let her into the apartment your brother has. By the time sheâs patched up Matt, youâre feeling sleepy â probably not all from the alcohol â and have taken residence on the other couch, eyes lowered, ready for sleep to take you.
A thought crosses your mind before youâre off to the land of nod â youâd gotten it done. The hard-to-do thing that was on the to-do-list of yours for the last three days after you figured it out. Confronted Matt. Check. It wasnât like you were your brotherâs keeperâŚmore like caretaker. You had to be the guardian angel whoâd swoop in and avenge whoâd try to kick his ass. In the evenings, youâd try to get as much done as possible. Case files, house chores, working the job off hours. Being a police officer in Hellâs Kitchen was hard, but being a Murdock? Double. But being the sister to Matt Murdock wasnât just a hard job. It was the best job you could think of being given.
